GU19 Tryout Information 2004
Players looking for teams to play at this spring and summer, as well as during next year's state cup?   It's hard to know how many GU19 teams there will be this year, but there will be at least two.

The GU19 SYSA Saints will be coached by Kenny Ormsby, assisted by Sig Hermann.   Kenny has had coached several GU19 teams in recent years, as well as a number of younger teams, including the four-time state finalist NWN Shamrocks (up through 2003).   Kenny is trying to develop a team which will compete at the top tournaments in Washington as well as travel out-of-state to California and Texas to give exposure to players looking to get the attention of college coaches.   Supplementing the team will hopefully be some players who are headed for college who are looking for somewhere to train and maintain game fitness before heading off to school.    The plans for the team will be determined by the players who show up, but as usual with his teams at this age level, Kenny is hoping to help some players who might not otherwise be seen by college coaches have an opportunity to be seen.   Anyone interested in learning more about this team should contact Kenny at 206-364-6016 or kenny0358@comcast.net.   Or contact Sig Hermann at 206-523-2043 or sigherm@comcast.net

The Royals will undoubtedly have a GU19 team, as they always do.   Last year Eastside had one, but I'm not sure about this year.   The Apple Valley Zephyr in Wenatchee always seem to have a team.    Undoubtedly a couple more teams will surface, and I'll be curious where.

FC Vancouver is putting together a team which won't play in fall league.   Here is the news from Todd Benner, President of ECYSA and coach of the Heartbreakers for many years:   "I am helping build a u19 team down in Vancouver with the FC Vancouver club in my association.  We will play tournaments and then break during the College/HS season and then will either play WA Cup or Oregon Winter League depending upon the level of our team.  So far it would seem like we will have a good team, not great, but competitive.  We are having an additional tryout this coming Saturday although we are not sure of the time.  We actually have too many players and will have to thin the team down, that is why the additional tryout."   Todd's e-mail address is the3benners@comcast.net

Other teams who are also looking for players will hopefully contact me so that I can add them.
